Re: Sound Chamber Choir Logo Design

The Re: Sound Chamber Choir was looking for a visual identity to set them apart and to create a cohesive look for their merchandise. As a member of the choir, I volunteered to design a wordmark logo that would reflect the group’s unique sound. The design features a distinctive coda symbol, adding a musical touch. This logo serves as a clear, professional visual identifier for the choir, enhancing their presence both on and off stage.
I consulted with the choir director to get an understanding of what she was looking for in the design. I then proceeded to experiment with a wide variety of different fonts. I eventually decided to use Allura for the main text, and Cabin for the sub text. I then proceeded to carefully create a coda that I could replace the "o" with to bring in the musical element to the design. The conductor and I decided that a dark blue was the best option for the colour, as it slightly softened the design.
I greatly enjoyed creating this design for my choir, as it gave me a good opportunity to work with type and create a design that is both subtle and effective.
